Okaloosa County Tax Collector Ben Anderson announces, “During November Okaloosa County property owners saved over $6.1 million dollars on their tax bills by taking advantage of the 4% early payment discount.” He continues, “We collected over $153 million dollars, which led to such an enormous savings across the board for those who utilized the discount. My hat is off to our incredible staff for processing over 100,000 total transactions during the short month of November; 75,000 of which were tax payments. I couldn’t be more proud of this committed team for demonstrating such excellent customer service to the Tax Payers of Okaloosa County.”
Property owners have another opportunity to take advantage an early payment discount this month. Anderson says, “I want to encourage those who missed the discount in November, to recognize the significant savings benefit of the 3% early payment discount available until December 31st. Payments can be made online, in our drop boxes located outside each branch, or in person with one of our friendly Customer Service Agents.”
Anderson points out another payment method, “For those not already on the Installment Tax Payment Plan, I urge you to sign up by calling our Office at 651-7300. This plan allows the Taxpayer to spread out their property tax payments into 4 smaller tax payments over the year, which eases the burden of one lump sum payment. Furthermore, by signing up for the Installment Tax Payment Plan, participants receive a 3.3% discount.” He continues, “It is just one of the many services we offer that makes doing business with us something that will save time and money.”
