The final day to receive a 4% discount on property taxes is quickly approaching. Okaloosa County Tax Collector Ben Anderson encourages property owners to take advantage of the
4% discount for early payment and get their payments in by November 30. Anderson says, “We anticipate collecting 65% of the tax revenue, or approximately $120 million, by the end of this month.” Anderson continues, “We will have staff staged in the lobbies of our Offices the last three days of the month to accept drop off payments by check. Customers can then get in and out of our Office without having to wait in line with those conducting other transactions.”
Anderson reminds, “There are a variety of payment options available, including online payments. The express payment system on our website will allow Citizens to pay online and if they use E-check, it’s free!” He continues, “We hope to one day have everyone signed up to receive their tax bills and make their payments online. If you haven’t done so already, sign up today to receive a copy of your tax bill in your inbox, as well as your mail box!” Visit our website: www.OkaloosaTax.com. A brief instructional video on the home page will explain more.
