Okaloosa County Tax Collector Ben Anderson is pleased to announce that taxpayers can now register for the Property Tax Installment Plan online. By utilizing the Installment Plan option, Taxpayers receive a 3.375% discount and payments can be divided into four payments over a one year period. Anderson says, “This plan allows Taxpayers to avoid the burden of paying taxes in one lump sum and they still receive an early payment discount.”
Anderson says, “We are currently accepting applications for the upcoming tax year, so I encourage Taxpayers to register online.” To participate in the Tax Installment Plan, complete an Installment Application located on the Tax Collector’s website at: www.OkaloosaTax.com. Click on the green “Taxes” link on the right side of the webpage. You will be directed to search for your account/property. Once you have located your account, select the green button labeled “Apply for the 2015 Installment Plan.” The application must be submitted no later than April 30.
Annual renewal is automatic as long as the June payment is made each year. The payments will apply to next year's taxes. The payment schedule is:
• 1st Installment Due by June 30
• 2nd Installment Due by September 30
• 3rd Installment Due by December 31
• 4th Installment Due by March 31
Anderson says, “This installment program should ease the burden on taxpayers by allowing them to spread out their payments.” Payments can be made online with E-check with no bank charge fees.
Re-application is not necessary if you participated in the Tax Installment Plan the previous year.
