Okaloosa County Tax Collector Ben Anderson would like to remind property owners they have an opportunity to take advantage of a 3% early payment discount on property taxes if paid by December 31. Anderson says, “Last month property owners saved over $5.8 million dollars on their tax bills by taking advantage of the 4% early payment discount.” He continues, “I want to encourage those who missed the discount last month, to recognize the significant savings benefit of the 3% early payment discount available in December.”
Anderson also reminds, “For those not already on the Installment Tax Payment Plan, I urge you to sign up by calling our Office at 651-7300. This plan allows the Taxpayer to spread out their property tax payments into
4 smaller tax payments over the year, which eases the burden of one lump sum payment. Furthermore, by signing up for the Installment Tax Payment Plan, participants receive a 3.3% discount.” He continues, “It is just one of the many services we offer to make doing business with us something that will save time and money.”
